The Donkey Sanctuary Ireland is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic professional to join its Welfare team.
Managing a team of highly skilled Donkey Welfare Advisers and support staff who work tirelessly to assist donkeys and mules around the country, you will ensure that donkeys in most need always receive the assistance required. The Welfare team find loving guardian homes for rehabilitated donkeys and provide support to those guardian homes throughout the donkey’s lives. Through your team you will assist members of the public with their donkeys by way of a Donkey Welfare Improvement Scheme.
A vital part of this public facing role is to work as an Ambassador for The Donkey Sanctuary Ireland and you will be comfortable speaking in public.
The Donkey Sanctuary (Ireland) Ltd is a registered charity which has been protecting donkeys in Ireland for over 30years. The charity has 4 farms and over 1800 donkeys in its care.
Your typical day will involve travel to provide leadership and support to field based staff. You will take a hands-on, calm approach to challenging situations, often involving injured and neglected donkeys. You will line manage the entire Welfare team, both office based and field based working across the entire Island of Ireland.
You will be required to have practical experience of working with equines, demonstrate strong management and leadership skills and have a proven ability to manage your team at a distance.
A Full valid driving licence is Essential for this role.

This is a full-time permanent contract, starting as soon as possible. Full Time Equivalent 40 hours per week (annualised hours contract).
Based Ireland (Midlands) to cover the whole of Ireland.
