Breakfast (daily from 9am - 11am)

Full English breakfast plus a pot of tea or an Americano

Veggie breakfast plus a pot of tea or an Americano (VE*)

Topped toast

Kitchen crafted paninis
All of the following are served with salted Burts crisps and a simple salad garnish.

Farmhouse sausage, caremelised onion and tomato and garlic chutney.
Heritage tomato, buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil (V).
Chargrilled vegetables and rocket pesto (VE).
Smoked bacon, Somerset brie and cranberry sauce.

Speciality sandwiches

All of the following are served on thick cut white or granary bread and served with salted Burts crisps and a simple salad garnish.

Minute steak, caramelised onion and Dorset blue vinny cheese.
Locally produced ham and Hawkridge mature cheddar salad.
Chicken breast, smoked bacon, tomato and our own mayonnaise.
Hot-smoked salmon, horseradish crème fraiche and watercress.
Carrot, hummus and rocket (VE).
Free-range egg mayonnaise and mustard cress (V).
Hawkridge mature cheddar and pickle (V).

Jacket potatoes

Baked fresh daily, served with Wyke Farm butter and a simple salad garnish.

Free range coronation chicken.

Atlantic prawns in Marie Rose sauce.

Main course (served 11.30am - 3pm)

Soup of the day (VE)
Choice of two soups freshly made in-house using the finest locally sourced ingredients, served with a white, brown or gluten free roll.

Homemade smoky baked beans (VE*)
Served on sourdough toast, topped with local free-range poached eggs, finished with shaved parmesan.

Macaroni and cauliflower cheese (V)
Combining two classics, curled macaroni and local cauliflower is swathed in Hawkridge mature cheddar sauce and served with garlic ciabatta.

Homemade vegetable Balti (VE)
Served with rice, onion bhaji, naan bread, poppadum, mango chutney and minty riata.

West Country braised pork faggot
In a caramelized onion gravy, creamed potatoes and garden peas.

Brixham salmon, smoked haddock and brioche fishcakes
With a lemon mayonnaise, baby leaf salad and caper crisps.

Hand-crafted hamburger
Produced to our own tailored recipe, using only local free-range beef and pork. Served in a brioche bun, with baby gem lettuce and beefsteak tomato, accompanied by dill pickle, mushroom ketchup and our own house slaw.

Add deep-fried potato wedges or a simple side salad.

For our cake lovers we have a mouth-watering selection of locally made cakes (including gluten free cakes), flapjacks, biscuits and Devon cream teas on our main service counter.

Sunday Roast

Oaten’s Farm roast sirloin of beef, Yorkshire pudding, watercress and a roasting gravy
Poached and roasted Holly Farm free range chicken, chipolata, sage and onion stuffing and a roasting gravy
Butternut squash and pearl barley risotto, roasted squash, pumpkin seeds and a candid hazelnut vinaigrette (VE)

Group visits

The Donkey Sanctuary is the ideal destination for a special day out for groups and parties. What’s more admission and parking is free!

We provide an easy drop zone right at our entrance for coaches only and a designated parking bay - so access is never an issue.

No visit is complete without enjoying the delights of our new restaurant, The Kitchen. We provide group dining menus including breakfast, lunch and cream teas. Coach drivers receive a complimentary meal.
