The Donkey Sanctuary is a truly unique venue for corporate events. Perfectly situated to serve the whole of East Devon and West Dorset including Exeter, Axminster and Honiton. We are just a few minutes from Sidmouth and only 13 miles from Junction 30 of the M5.

The Kitchen provides an impressive backdrop to any event, with unparalleled views over the sanctuary, Devon’s rolling hills and the Jurassic Coast.

Venue hire is for half of The Kitchen, divided with a sound-proof partition that provides a quiet and private area for delegates to enjoy your event and relax as they network.

Space to suit you

At The Donkey Sanctuary we will provide you with conference facilities and services to the highest standards. The Kitchen can be used equally well for conferences, seminars, training and team-building exercises for up to 100 delegates.

The space is available to hire between October - April during term time only for half a day (8.30am until 12.30pm or 1.00pm until 5.00pm) or a full day (9.00pm until 5.00pm).

Fine dining

Head chef, Chris Morris, has produced a conference menu packed with fresh, local produce, all made on-site by our team of expert chefs. As a passionate animal welfare organisation, we ensure that all meat items are responsibly sourced from producers with high standards of farming and welfare, while vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are prominent and varied.

Stage equipment

The Kitchen can be equipped with screens, projectors and all sorts of stage configurations and technology to suit your event, including public address systems, lighting and display systems.


The Kitchen and wider sanctuary is covered by our wireless broadband network so you can browse the Internet, collect and send emails, and conduct business while away from the office.
