Here at The Donkey Sanctuary our gardeners take great pride in creating a beautiful environment for all to enjoy, and we are seeking to recruit an experienced Gardener to join our busy team.
Reporting to the Head Gardener, you will maintain the grounds at Slade House Farm, Trow Offices and the adjacent areas. Your duties will include the propagation and planting of trees, shrubs and flowers, and the maintenance of the gardens, maze, car parks, lawns, trees and buildings, at all times adhering to set Health and Safety procedures and COSHH regulations.
Able to plan and prioritise a busy and varied workload, you will possess good time management and communication skills, liaising with our Wildlife and Conservation Officer, maintenance and other departments within the charity, and volunteers. You will be passionate about our work, and will love meeting and talking to supporters and engaging with members of public, enhancing their visitor experience.
A City and Guilds Amenity Horticulture and a Chainsaw NPTC qualification are essential, as are tractor driving and landscaping experience and carpentry and joinery skills.
This is a full-time, fixed term role starting as soon as possible until 31 May 2018.
