We currently have a fabulous opportunity for 2 Commis Chef Apprentices to join the brigade at the Donkey Sanctuary’s fantastic new restaurant, ‘The Kitchen’.
Our Head and Sous Chefs are highly experienced in creating mouth-watering menus, and we make everything fresh onsite producing food from the best ingredients that we source from local producers who share our ethics and commitment to sustainability. We are looking for a dedicated hardworking individual who is interested in enjoying a fabulous work-life balance and passionate about cooking and about producing great food in fast paced environment.
After your 3 month probation period you will be enrolled onto the apprenticeship program at Cornwall College, training at the renowned River Cottage campus on Park Farm which currently holds the prestigious award of the 10th best cookery school in the UK. Supporting this, we will provide the best training onsite with our very own experienced and award winning team of chefs that produce everything from fresh from our new state of the art kitchen.
Possessing experience of working in a commercial kitchen, you will prepare food to the highest standard of quality and presentation, ensuring that wastage is kept to a minimum, and that strict food hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained. Excellent customer service, organisational and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
These are full-time, fixed term contracts starting as soon as possible until 31 December 2018, working 5 days per week over 7 days, including college studies. Flexibility will be required for weekend working.
