We are looking to recruit a part-time Isolation Groom (Late Shift) to be based within our Isolation Unit at The Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth.
Our Isolation Unit works within our veterinary department and alongside our donkey welfare teams. Upon arrival, all donkeys and mules spend six weeks in the Isolation Unit to begin their settling in period. Vaccinations, farriery and worming are updated before they then join the rest of the donkeys. With experience of working with equines, and capable of working unsupervised, you will be responsible for the careful observation of all the new arrivals and for identifying and reporting illnesses to the Isolation Manager and duty Veterinary Surgeon.
This is a permanent contract starting as soon as possible. The hours of work will be based on 37.5 hours on alternate weeks; Monday–Friday, 3.30pm–9.00pm and Saturday and Sunday 1.15pm–9.00pm (one week on/one week off). However please note that due to the care we provide, we operate a 24/7 service and some flexibility with hours will be required.
