The Donkey Sanctuary is one of the UK’s largest animal welfare charities and the largest equine charity working internationally. The Donkey Sanctuary supports projects in over 30 countries worldwide. Every day we feel privileged to help sick, unwanted and hard-working donkeys and the people who rely on them, thanks to incredible donations from our valued supporters.
There are an estimated 50 million donkeys in the world and we currently reach one million of them. Can you help raise the money needed to reach even more donkeys in distress?
We are looking to recruit an experienced Major Donor Relationship Manager to join our ambitious fundraising team in order to continue the growth of our income.
Further growth is key to The Donkey Sanctuary’s future and achieving our mission; to double the number of neglected donkeys and mules we can help by 2018.
This is a great opportunity to make a difference to not only your own career but also to animal welfare worldwide. The Donkey Sanctuary is looking for a talented relationship builder to move our major donor programme forward in line with our ambitious plans for the future.
You will inspire and engage our donors with a variety of cases for support, including a current capital campaign to build a new veterinary hospital.
You will work closely with other Fundraising Managers to make sure donors are at the centre of our work, building on the success of our major donor programme to take this forward and achieve further growth.
You will be able to demonstrate a strong track record in achieving income growth; you’ll put donors at the heart of fundraising. You must be able to work autonomously as well as being a strong team player. You will have the ability to work well under pressure to meet targets and tight deadlines. You will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and have a natural ability to build rapport with a range of internal and external audiences, with the ability to flex your communication style to suit different individuals.
If this sounds like you and you possess the natural ability to act as ambassador for the charity, look no further than this exciting opportunity.
This is a full-time, permanent role, starting as soon as possible. Working 35 hours per week, this role is based in Sidmouth, Devon; an area of ‘outstanding natural beauty’ with some flexibility available.
