The Donkey Sanctuary is one of the UK’s largest international animal welfare charities, currently supporting projects in over 35 countries worldwide.  We are working for a world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering, and their contribution to humanity is fully valued. We are achieving this by transforming the quality of life for donkeys, mules and people worldwide through greater understanding, collaboration and support, and by promoting lasting, mutually life-enhancing relationships.

We are now seeking to recruit a Head of Fundraising to raise and substantially increase annual donated income for The Donkey Sanctuary. In partnership with the Deputy Director of Marketing Communications, you will implement and evolve a five-year Fundraising Strategy that will see substantial investment and growth across Individual Giving, Major Donor, Trust & Foundation and Community. You will manage and substantially grow existing income streams as well as introducing new fundraising products, channels and initiatives.

Possessing extensive multi-million-pound fundraising leadership experience across multiple disciplines, you will lead the Fundraising Team at The Donkey Sanctuary into a period of substantial growth. Proven strategic planning, implementation and financial management skills are essential, as is the ability to lead, manage, mentor and inspire a large and diverse team.

If you feel you have the qualities, skills and experience to fulfil this varied, rewarding and vital role, and would like to be part of the evolving program of change taking place within the charity, we would love to hear from you. Based in Sidmouth, Devon – “an area of outstanding natural beauty” – this is a full-time, permanent contract starting as soon as possible. A degree of flexibility for remote working would be considered for the right candidate.

Closing date for completed applications: 12.30pm on Monday 4 February 2019.
