We are looking for some very special individuals who would love to help support our wildlife and conservation programme by undertaking land management and conservation tasks with us.
Location: Devon and Dorset.
Do you have a real enthusiasm for the outdoors and a passion for the natural environment? If so we would love for you to share this with us and help us by supporting our wildlife and conservation programme which aims to benefit farmland wildlife by improving habitats, enhancing landscape character and protecting the natural and historic environment on our farms.
You’ll enjoy working as part of a friendly team and be passionate about the work of The Donkey Sanctuary, with a willingness to be adaptable to the changing and often challenging weather in the great British outdoors.
You’ll be happy to learn about the work that we carry out all over the world and act as an ambassador for The Donkey Sanctuary whilst working with us. You’ll enjoy working with other like-minded people and learning new skills whilst having fun and enjoying your time outdoors.
Skills and personal experience
We would love for you to have some prior knowledge and experience of land management and conservation tasks but this is not necessary as we will teach you all you need to know to help on the day.
We are looking for team players who are friendly, adaptable and professional in their approach to volunteering with us. You’ll have a reasonable level of fitness and be over the age of 16.
If you do have any skills and experience with specialist conservation roles or species surveying then we would love for you to chat with us about this, as we are sure we will be able to put your skills to good use.
Times and preferred duration of volunteering
Opportunities are available throughout the year.
Land management tasks are held monthly/bi-monthly on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Our gardening project at the Sidmouth sanctuary is every Thursday and we welcome you on a drop-in basis to this.
There is no expectation that volunteers commit to regular sessions, you can dip in and out as your availability or interest dictates. We just ask that you book your place for each session.
We always appreciate any time you can give to volunteer with us.
