URGENT APPEAL: RISING COST OF DONKEY CARE

The prices of basic essentials, such as straw, bedding and feed for our donkeys, have jumped in price. What’s more, there are more donkeys in need of our rehabilitative, veterinary and life-changing intervention every day. Our work to transform the future for donkeys never stops, despite the dramatic increase in costs.

But it’s becoming tougher and tougher each year and that’s why your continued support is so vital.

With so many donkeys in need of our help, our mission to provide every donkey with a good quality of life is becoming increasingly more difficult to achieve. We’ve tried to find ways to reduce costs, but there are more and more long-eared friends who require our help. We can’t turn these deserving animals away.

How your support can make a difference

Among the donkeys you are helping to support are Dennis, Eliza, Lulu, Daisy and Geraldine, who we rescued from a site in North Devon in February 2023.

The donkeys were living in challenging conditions that posed a threat to their health. Their field shelter was also falling apart and planks of wood with protruding nails were a constant danger to their hooves. All five donkeys needed urgent medical help.

Today, these five donkeys are leading happy, fulfilled lives at Axnoller Farm in Dorset. The bleak, hopeless life they once knew has been transformed – they are now thriving in a safe, loving home. This is only possible thanks to the generosity of kind supporters like you.
