Adoption donkey Aramis has recently been a little under the weather. Our expert vet team has made us aware that he now has a number of sarcoids, which are a type of skin tumour. The team have been able to successfully treat previous occurrences with a combination of special creams and laser treatments, but the sarcoids have returned with increasing vigour and number.
We are monitoring him very closely and are confident that, at the moment, his quality of life is not affected and he remains comfortable and happy in the company of his dear friend Dartanyan. He remains in his paddock at Shelter 5 where he continues to enjoy meeting his visitors.
However, we have taken the decision to not sell any new Aramis adoptions to people wanting to join our adoptions family, so you will not find him on our website at present. His health and happiness, as we know you'll appreciate, is our top priority.
We have set up a JustGiving fundraising page for those who would like to support the work of our vet team in treating poorly donkeys, including Aramis, in our care.
