I am the farm manager of Slade House Farm, although I was previously a relief farm manager for four years here at the Sanctuary. This involved covering the outlying farms whilst the manager was on holiday or away from the farm.

Since being at The Donkey Sanctuary I have worked in a variety of departments. I started in the Isolation Unit before joining Paccombe Farm as a groom. I then worked in the Welfare Department as a welfare co-ordinator with the added part-time job as a welfare officer covering the Devon area. I was in the Welfare Department for 10 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Promotion then came my way and I can honestly say that I have had a very varied outlook into The Donkey Sanctuary!

My favourite donkey is Jack G. I used to be his welfare officer and met him as a 6 month old colt. He was very naughty ... kicked, bit and was generally a handful. He was eventually signed over to the Sanctuary so a single donkey could join him.

After a couple of years both were returned to the Sanctuary where I have been involved with him ever since. Together we have attended shows and worked at our sister charity, the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys. He really enjoys being one of our show donkeys and loves meeting visitors.
