We have developed a range of educational resources for schools with a view to furthering one of our core aims: to promote understanding, care and welfare issues for animals among young people.
The resources have been developed with teacher and subject specialists to cover a range of aspects of the 2014 Programme of Study and have been made freely available below as well as from the Times Educational Supplement (TES) website via The Donkey Sanctuary membership area.
Current resources include:
- 'Animals and their habitats' scheme of learning and resources (Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2).
- Activity and puzzle book.
- Easter activities.
- The Donkey Sanctuary visit guide.
- Christmas activities.
We are always looking for partner schools interested in being involved in the development of future curriculum resources.
The Donkey Sanctuary has been nationally recognised by the Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS). The accreditation is awarded to establishments where staff have met the criteria and operates in line with the CEVAS Code of Practice, which is a quality assurance standard.
