The Donkey Sanctuary is the largest Charity in the world dealing specifically with donkeys and mules. We have approximately 1000 staff and volunteers, supporting a number of different projects in 27 countries worldwide.
A vacancy has arisen for a permanent Veterinary Pathologist to work within our Research and Pathology Department based at our pathology unit located near Honiton, Devon, UK.
As the Veterinary Pathologist, you will provide the highest quality pathology contribution to the Charity’s vision to improve donkey health, welfare and education worldwide as well as ensuring diagnostic pathology and post mortem examinations are delivered using best practice. You will also be responsible for identifying disease trends at both individual and herd level and contribute towards non-invasive research programmes with the ultimate aim of improving donkey welfare.
You must hold a Veterinary Qualification recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and also a PhD in a relevant field, along with experience of equine practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also essential for the role.
Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible working and annualised hours contract working may also be considered). The starting salary for this role is £36,000 per annum.
