Donkey Welfare Advisers are professionals in the field of donkey and mule welfare. They play a key front line role in the work of The Donkey Sanctuary: responding to donkeys in need, growing and managing a high quality rehoming scheme, and acting as an ambassador for the charity at all times.
We are looking for a dynamic and resourceful professional, covering the North East of England region, to join our team of 14 Donkey Welfare Advisers in Great Britain, for a role that requires excellent people skills and hands on field based work where experience of applying animal welfare legislation is essential.
Possessing demonstrable equine experience and expert skills, you will take appropriate action when required to prevent donkeys and mules suffering. You will anticipate and take preventative steps to avoid cruelty, distress or poor treatment by educating, supporting and informing a number of audiences in the care and welfare of donkeys and mules.
Working from home, the area covered will include the counties of Yorkshire, Co Durham, Northumberland, and Tyne and Wear. The successful applicant will be expected to live centrally within their region.
If you have a proven track record of field based animal welfare work, including equine experience, then we would love to hear from you.
