Dawdle for Donkeys

Get active for donkeys and enjoy the natural splendour of this amazing corner of Devon by taking on the family-friendly 5k or more adventurous 10k walk with fellow donkey enthusiasts.

Join team Donkey Sanctuary for a family day out, a meet up with friends or simply make new acquaintances as you gently nourish the mind and body with a walk that’s as good for you as it is the four-legged friends you’re helping!

The day kicks off with a (not too strenuous) fun group warm up led by LED Community Leisure, followed by your choice of walk where you’ll take in scenic trails beyond just the Sidmouth sanctuary and meet some of our friendly residents along the way. Once you have crossed the finish line, we invite you to stay and relax at the sanctuary, relishing in your post-walk glory.

Then why not Dawdle Your Way - simply pick a time and a place to suit you and enlist the company of friends, family or colleagues to complete the 5k or 10k challenge with you. Sign up to complete the 5 or 10k Dawdle Your Way via our online registration page.

Registration fee

• Adult 5k or 10k: £15 + booking fee
• Under 16s (must be accompanied by an adult): FREE 
• Group (maximum 10 people): £50 + booking fee.

Adult t-shirts can be purchased at checkout for £15 each. Sizes available: XS, S, M, L, XL.

Sponsorship

Suggested sponsorship target: £50 per person.

The entry fee only covers the event costs. By raising sponsorship, you will help make a difference to donkeys in need all around the world and to help you get started, we have created a fundraising pack with lots of useful tips, from setting up a JustGiving or Facebook fundraising page to alternative ways of raising money. 

We understand that it can be difficult to ask friends, family and colleagues for sponsorship, so if you don’t want to go down this route, then you can choose to pay a donation when you sign up instead. We ask for a minimum of £25 per person, which is in addition to your sign-up fee and 100% of this donation will go towards the work of the charity.
