You may remember Flash who was sadly abandoned at Appleby Horse Fair in Cumbria in June earlier this year.
We are thrilled to report that since we rescued him he has made friends with another rescued donkey, has made a full recovery and is now living life to the full at The Donkey Sanctuary.
Flash, aged 5, was so named because he was found running loose next to the ‘flashing lane’ where owners race their horses at the famous Appleby Fair. He was frightened and lonely and at risk of injury.
Luckily our experts were there to treat him for his urgent health needs and to whisk him away to The Donkey Sanctuary once it became clear he had been abandoned.
Now he has truly bonded with Brian, aged 10, who was also rescued from travellers and relinquished to us by well-wishers in a separate case in February. Both are guaranteed sanctuary for life with The Donkey Sanctuary.
Here Brian (left) and Flash are pictured relaxing peacefully in their paddock.
