With Valentine’s Day coinciding with school half term holidays, our Events team and their gorgeous donkeys have been busy preparing for Love Week here at our Sanctuary in Devon. They’ve planned a week of family fun activities that will keep little ones busy with crafty creations like making Valentine’s cards and Love Bugs. Families can also wrap up warm and take part in the Valentine treasure hunt, to track down heart shapes hidden around the farm and collect romantic donkey names, all taken from real donkeys like Precious who live on our farms.
Older children and more ambitious crafters can put their skills to the test on Valentine’s Day to build a love nest for birds. The team will be on hand to help if needed and give hints and tips on how to encourage our feathered friends to move in to your love nest when Spring arrives.
Sponsor donkey Bramble was on hand to help get things ready and will be dropping in at Box 16 throughout the week for plenty of cuddles and to see the fabulous creations.
As always, there’s no admission or parking charges for coming along to The Donkey Sanctuary but donations will not only cover the cost of materials but help our charity to carry on providing a home for over 6,000 rescued donkeys all over Europe.
More info about planning your visit can be found on our ‘Come and Visit’ page.
