This year the show had, at last, glorious weather. Also, the organisers, by changing the show date to coincide with a Bank Holiday weekend and allowing children to go free on Saturday, attracted hoards of visitors to the event and so to our stand.
The "Slade House Farm Team" showed three of their donkeys; Juniper, Ponk and Marguerite and all were placed in their respective classes. The donkeys behaved so impeccably that visitors to the show ring also enjoyed grooming all three donkeys when relaxing beside the lorry. Credit must go to their handlers for such a successful day out - Jenny Lowe, Pete Daubney and Tracy Highet.
All three donkeys won a rosette in the 'Best Condition and Turnout' class. Juniper 2nd, Ponk 3rd and Marguerite 4th.
Juniper, Ponk and Marguerite can all be seen around Slade House Farm - just ask at our Visitors' Centre or any member of staff on the yard as to their whereabouts.
