The Donkey Sanctuary Ivybridge’s fantastic Summer Fair is back on Saturday 6 June from 10am to 4pm, packed with plenty of fun for the whole family including the chance to meet and adopt the resident donkeys. Admisison and parking is free.
The whole family can enjoy demonstrations, games such as welly wangling, a fun fair and displays from Colours Martial Arts and Fusion Dance and South Hams Hawks and Owls stalls.
Canine Capers will be holding a dog agility demonstration and dog show with classes including prettiest bitch, best child handler and waggiest tail.
The centre will be putting on a donkey riding therapy display and donkey activities all day with plenty of opportunity for visitors to meet the adoption donkeys.
Delicious refreshments will be available including a BBQ, cakes and snacks and ice creams.
Visitors can take the opportunity to meet, cuddle or adopt a resident donkey.
Senior Centre Manager Bob Venn said this was a fantastic chance to meet the donkeys and to help the Ivybridge Sanctuary raise money to support vital donkey riding therapy for the local area at the same time.
He said: “The Summer Fair is always a great day and we hope you’ll come along and support us. Children will love meeting the donkeys or taking a donkey ride and parents and grandparents might even be persuaded to adopt a donkey!
“It’s sure to be a great atmosphere, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!”
The Summer Fair will help to raise funds to support the 6,000 riding therapy sessions The Donkey Sanctuary Ivybridge provides for children with additional needs each year.
