The Donkey Sanctuary is beginning preparations and recruitment for a new charity shop opening in the summer of 2016 in the centre of Tavistock.
The ‘For The Love Of…’ shop will be the second of its kind in the country to offer an exciting blend of quality donated pre-loved goods and The Donkey Sanctuary’s exclusive new range of gift items. There will also be the chance to pause for a delicious Fairtrade coffee, complete with carrot cake or donkey-shaped shortbreads.
The Donkey Sanctuary is recruiting a Manager and Assistant Manager for the store, and is keen to get as many volunteers involved in the shop as possible.
James Searle, Senior Retail Manager says; “Our first charity shop which opened a year ago in Otley, Leeds, has been a real success. We look forward to this shop being a welcoming community space where people can relax, meet up with their friends, enjoy events, and learn about the work The Donkey Sanctuary does around the world.”
The shop will have a selection of things in it to appeal to all age ranges, pre-loved goods, Donkey World items and a café that serves wonderful coffee and cakes all year round. ‘For The Love Of..’ will also hold themed event evenings with a variety of themes.
The funds raised in the store will go towards supporting the work of The Donkey Sanctuary. There are a number of volunteering opportunities at For The Love Of…, to find out more about employment and volunteering opportunities visit www.thedonkeysanctuary.org.uk/vacancies
