Visit The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth this Easter for lots of family fun, including an eggciting Easter Holiday Hunt and carrot seed planting.
There is plenty of fun and adventure to keep the whole family entertained at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth this Easter holiday. Open from 9am every day, the Sanctuary’s holiday activities will begin on 1 April and will run until Easter Monday.
Plenty to do
Take part in the Easter holiday hunt and explore the Sanctuary’s beautiful coast and country walks. Once you’ve completed the hunt, you will receive a delicious, chocolatey reward. Holiday hunt sheets can be purchased from the Gift Shop for £3.
What do donkeys and the Easter Bunny have in common? They both love carrots! If you love carrots too or want to grow some for your favourite furry friends, join in the carrot seed planting activity for a small donation. Carrot seed planting takes place in the Events Barn every day from 3 April to 17 April, 10.30am until 11.30am.
Get the whole family outdoors and meet some of the 500 donkeys who are cared for at the Sidmouth site, including giant Poitou donkeys, gorgeous adoption donkeys and marvellous miniature donkeys; you can even cuddle a donkey or two in the main yard from 11am until 1pm and 1.30pm until 3.30pm.
Explore the maze, let off some steam in the farm-themed outdoor play area and bring the dog along for a scenic coast and country walk around the heart of the Sanctuary. The Sanctuary also has a Nature Centre, where you can learn about the wild side of the Sanctuary and play ‘Betty the Bat’ games on the Bat Beacon touch screen.
Take a break in the Hayloft restaurant where you will find freshly-prepared, locally-sourced food including hearty breakfasts, delicious lunches and afternoon tea. Specials, children’s portions, vegetarian and gluten free options are available.
The Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth is open seven days a week from 9am till dusk. Admission and parking is free. It holds events and open days throughout the year and all proceeds go towards The Donkey Sanctuary’s work in the community and worldwide.
