The Donkey Sanctuary Belfast has received a fantastic donation of £550 from nearby Greenacres Golf Club in Ballyclare, which will support much-needed donkey assisted therapy for the community.
The club, based at Greenacres Golf Centre, raised the money with a recent charity golf day and chose to donate the proceeds to The Donkey Sanctuary Belfast as a worthwhile cause that benefits so many children and families across the province.
The Donkey Sanctuary Belfast Centre Manager, Tina Symington, said it was a very generous donation: “We are very grateful to Greenacres Golf Club for their kind donation! It’s a fantastic help to us and will be of great benefit to the rescued donkeys in our care and to the children who love their riding therapy lessons here at the centre.
“It’s thanks to the generosity of individuals and organisations like Greenacres Golf Club that we are able to keep on offering donkey therapy for free to so many children with additional needs and we’re delighted that members of the Club have seen what we do and made such a kind contribution to help us keep up the good work.”
The £550 donation will help The Donkey Sanctuary Belfast with ongoing costs associated with providing over 6,000 riding therapy sessions for children with additional needs from across the province each year.
