The Donkey Sanctuary’s Donkey Assisted Therapy Centre in Ivybridge is holding a ‘Big Screen Race Night’ at Filham Park on Saturday 5th October from 7pm, to raise funds for the centre.
The fundraising event is being organised by the centre’s Parents and Friends Association and features an entertaining night of virtual horse racing, where visitors can place their bets, watch the races on an indoor screen and have the chance to win prize money. All races are sponsored by local companies who have donated prizes for the owners of winning horses.
Paula Betts, Centre Coordinator at Ivybridge says: “The annual race night is one of our most popular events. Visitors can place their bets on a virtual horse for £1 and be in with the chance of winning prize money during each of the eight races.
There is also a chance in the final race of the night to win an overnight stay for two at Woolacombe Bay Hotel in Devon. Fantastic raffle prizes, including an overnight stay at Penventon Hotel in Cornwall.
There will be a bar, refreshments and raffle on the night also. Entry tickets for the event can be bought in advance for £4, which includes a drink and programme. Doors open at 7pm and the first race commences at 7:30pm. All funds raised will help support our centre’s work so we can continue to provide Donkey Assisted Therapy to children with additional needs from Plymouth and the surrounding area each week.”
