For people looking for the ideal place to take their special mums this Mother’s Day, The Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth has all the ingredients for a perfect day out.
With definite signs of spring arriving, the beautiful countryside setting of The Donkey Sanctuary is a superb venue for celebrating Mother’s Day this year. Families can take part in special Mother’s Day craft events on Saturday 17th March. From spending time with the donkeys to enjoying a well-deserved cup of tea or tasty lunch in the restaurant, hard-working mums are sure to appreciate a day of fun at the Sanctuary.
Things to do this Mother’s Day at The Donkey Sanctuary:
- On Saturday 17th March 2012 from 11am–3pm: Get the whole family involved in decorating pots to plant springtime bulbs in and making Mother’s Day cards at our craft centre.
- Take a springtime stroll around the Sanctuary. There are 10 walks that circle the beautiful Devon countryside where you can meet the donkeys and admire this year’s newly blooming daffodils. Walk guides are available at the Visitors’ Centre.
- Enjoy the special Mother’s Day menu or stop for a coffee or traditional cream tea in the Hayloft restaurant. The former donkey barn has been superbly renovated into a rustic and relaxing restaurant with windows overlooking the donkeys in the Main Yard.
The Donkey Sanctuary is open 365 days a year from 9.00am until dusk with free admission and parking. For more information call the events enquiry line 01395 573156.
