International animal welfare charity The Donkey Sanctuary has today launched its exciting new programme of events taking place at the Sidmouth sanctuary during February and March 2011.
The Pre-Spring Programme of Events, which is available from the Visitors’ Centre at The Donkey Sanctuary and can be downloaded for free from the website, contains treats for all ages.
Families may wish to join in a Valentine’s Donkey Hunt (daily 14 – 27 February) or tuck in to the special Valentine’s Family Menu at the Hayloft Restaurant (14 and 15 February), or pick out some fun half-term activities to keep the whole family entertained.
For those that like to take a more hands on approach, there are chances to Meet, Groom and Walk a Donkey over the half-term break (daily 22 – 25 February), while crafters may like to check out the herd of knitted donkeys donated by supporters at the Donkey Grotto and Craft Stall events (daily 21 – 25 February).
The Donkey Sanctuary’s sister charity, the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust (EST) who provide donkey riding therapy for children with additional needs and disabilities, are running table top sales on 19 February and 19 March organised by the EST Parents & Friends Association.
