On Tuesday 25th March at 2.30 pm, a donkey from The Donkey Sanctuary will make a special visit to Lipson Vale Primary School in Plymouth to collect a £200 donation.
The money was raised by pupils during a non-uniform 'Mufty' day and a cheque will be presented to The Donkey Sanctuary during assembly.
The pupils had been inspired by an earlier visit from the Sanctuary, which offers free educational school visits; giving children the opportunity to meet and learn more about donkeys.
Dawn Vincent, PR officer says: "£200 is an amazing amount of money and we are very thankful to all of the pupils at Lipson Vale primary school for helping The Donkey Sanctuary. We rely entirely on donations to help improve conditions for donkeys and mules worldwide."
The Sanctuary's year-round school visits can be linked to any part of the national curriculum and the subjects all have a donkey theme, from counting and measuring donkeys to the health and hygiene of children and donkeys.
