The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth will be holding Easter holiday workshops for children on Wednesday 7th, Thursday 8th, Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th of April 2010.
These interactive events will include the opportunity to create floating flowers, donkey door hangers and dream catchers. There will also be snake charming (no real snakes involved) story time, colouring and even a sand pit for the younger children (content may vary).
Jan Aherne who runs the Education and Activities unit at The Donkey Sanctuary says: “Sessions are going to be really good fun and children can meet some of our specially trained, friendly donkeys that sometimes visit local schools, in the nearby Hayloft Paddock. Warming drinks and even ‘kiddie’s meals’ are available from our Hayloft Restaurant, situated next door to our Activity Centre.”
No booking is required. There is a small charge of £3 per child, or £2.50 each for two or more children. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Sessions are held from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Funds raised on the day will go towards helping provide sanctuary from suffering to donkeys worldwide.
