The Donkey Sanctuary will be joining in the fun of National Storytelling Week from 1st-5th February with a number of exciting activity sessions in the company of the donkeys.
For the first week of February, the Sanctuary will be opening its doors to local groups and schools for stories and donkey-led activities. The daytime events are aimed at local Primary schools and Pre-schools; however evening sessions can be made available for Brownies, Cubs and other organised groups by appointment.
Education and Activities manager Janice Aherne said “We are thrilled to be taking part in National Storytelling Week; it will give our staff the chance to put into practice their recently acquired skills following training from a professional storyteller; our donkeys always enjoy playing to an audience and we can’t wait to share stories and puppet shows with the children.”
Places are limited so booking is essential. There is no charge for groups attending, however donations to the Sanctuary are always welcome.
With events and performances held throughout the country, National Storytelling Week is a delightful annual event that looks to promote the art of storytelling.
