The Sidmouth-based Donkey Sanctuary has only four places left on its ‘Donkey Carer Experience Day’ which is being held on Tuesday 20th October and aims to help raise funds for its work around the world.
The Donkey Carer Experience Day gives members of the public the opportunity to work at its Sanctuary which is home to over 400 rescued and unwanted donkeys.
The day allows the ‘Donkey Carer’ to gain hands-on experience meeting and caring for some of its donkeys, with behind-the-scenes activities including grooming, feeding and exercising the donkeys, making plastic name collars, mucking out donkeys stables and enjoying a guided tour of the farm.
Kate Bailey who is organising the event says: “This is the chance of a lifetime to work closely with our adorable, gentle donkeys!
“Participants will receive a certificate, a framed photo of them with the donkeys, a specially designed t-shirt, lunch and refreshments (including an afternoon Devon Cream Tea) and a personalised donkey collar. It really is a fun day out and makes a unique gift for the person who has everything.”
The Donkey Carer Experience Day costs just £150 and funds from the day will go towards the running of The Donkey Sanctuary which has 10 farms throughout the UK and Ireland, along with projects in Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kenya and Mexico.
