Latest press releases
The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth will be holding beach-themed holiday workshops for children on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th August.
These interactive events will include making windmills or flags, model rafts, pebble painting and colouring (content may vary).
Jan Aherne who runs the Education and Activities unit at The Donkey Sanctuary says: “Sessions are going to be really good fun and children can make it even more special by having their face painted (no extra charge) if they wish.”
Last week Brian, a dark brown foal, was born at the Sidmouth-based Donkey Sanctuary.
Recently the charity has had eight new arrivals; four of the mares arrived pregnant. The donkeys have been handed over to the Sanctuary as the owner’s circumstances had changed and they wanted to ensure that their donkeys have the best possible care and a secure life.
The Donkey Sanctuary will be present at next week’s Royal Welsh Show from (20th – 23rd July 2009) along with its connected charity, The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST), a charity which provides riding therapy to children with additional needs.
