Ladies' fashion show (cancelled)

We are organising a fashion show at the Council Chambers, Knowle, Sidmouth from 7.30 pm - 10.30 pm on 28th October 2008. The event is in conjunction with a company called Travelling Trends, who specialise in hosting mobile fashion shows aimed specifically at associations who need to raise valuable funds for their particular cause.

There will be fantastic selection of seasonal clothes ranging from casual to smart wear for ladies, from late teenagers upwards. The evening will start with a catwalk display of some of the clothes available to buy.

Slow healing...

Lady has asked me to say a big thank you to everyone who sent her a get well soon message last week.

After a few extra days of box rest in hospital, we joined a couple of other donkeys in one of the hospital paddocks so that Lady's vet could keep an eye on her. It goes without saying that if she needed anything, I would bray at the top of my voice!

We're now back home in the Main Barn (post a comment below if you can see us on the webcam). I made sure Lady was comfortable before heading into the field to catch up with all the latest news.

Memorial Day 2008

We will be holding our annual Memorial Day on Saturday 4th October 2008 at 10.30 am. During this day we remember those people whose names are inscribed around the Sanctuary.

Last year gave our new Chief Executive, David Cook, his first opportunity to ride in the "vicarmobile" with Reverend Peter Leverton, our local vicar, as he blessed our many memorials around the Sanctuary.

Over 450 people attended the very moving service.

Donkey walks - 2009

If you are visiting the Sanctuary why not join us in the Hayloft Paddock (weather permitting) for a unique opportunity to groom and walk the donkeys.

Each session will give you a chance to spend quality time with some of the donkeys, whether taking them for a walk or just grooming them with the brushes provided. Not only will you enjoy the experience, but the donkeys too would love your attention.
