The Donkey Sanctuary is holding its annual Donkey Summer Fair on Sunday 16 August at the charity’s headquarters in Sidmouth, Devon from 10am until 4pm with free admission and parking and plenty of fun for the whole family.
The Summer fair is the most anticipated family event in the charity’s calendar, promising a fun-packed day out for all. Entertainment includes the chance to meet the Sanctuary’s adoption donkeys and buy the perfect adoption gift pack, tombola, Punch and Judy shows, bouncy castle, face-painting, trailer rides and lots more!
There is also the opportunity for children to enjoy an ice cream. Adults will be able to listen to the likes Roger Styles and Amelia Tucker. There will be a barbeque and beer tent, with light refreshments available throughout the day from the Hayloft Restaurant and delicious stalls around the fair.
Chris Phillips, Events Officer for The Donkey Sanctuary, says: “Last year was a great success with thousands of visitors and we are certain it will be the same again this year. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors of all ages; our donkeys will be meeting and greeting people throughout the day. Food and drink will be available for all tastes, and with a combination of crafts and children’s activities running alongside our animal-centred events, we are certain that there is something for everyone. It really is a super day out!”
As well as providing a great day out for all the family, money raised at the Summer Fair will help to fund the worldwide work of The Donkey Sanctuary. The Sanctuary is open 365 days a year with free admission and parking, and visitors are always welcome to come along to meet the resident donkeys and find out more about the charity.
