Diesel was taken into the care of our Irish Sanctuary when he was just a few hours old, after being rejected by his mother. He was very weak and in need of nourishment and care. Our staff formulated a rota to bottle-feed him every two hours and he was monitored closely.
After a few weeks of around-the-clock care, Diesel was much stronger and full of life — just as a little foal should be. The farm manager placed Olaf, a six-month-old foal who was also orphaned, with Diesel and they bonded straight away. The two are now best of friends, and it is a pure delight to see them playing in the fields together, as happy as can be.
