Poor Don Pablo was dumped near a busy motorway in Spain. We were alerted to his plight by a concerned supporter, and we found him alone, without food or water, and with nowhere to shelter or comfortably lay down. Our rescue team was terribly concerned to see his deformed hooves and the wounds that showed his legs had been cruelly hobbled. No longer of use to his owner, he had obviously been cast out to fend for himself, but there was no way we would leave him to suffer alone. We rescued him immediately and he now lives at our main Sanctuary in Spain.
Our Spanish team tells us that Don Pablo has settled in really well: “He is enjoying the company of other donkeys. He loves his food, and will always come over for a scratch behind the ears. Welcome to the family, Don Pablo.”
