We are pleased to offer our continued support to the conference, in collaboration with the Scottish Government and three other animal charities. This year's focus for the event is 'equine ownership in a changing world'.

We are working in conjunction with The British Horse Society Scotland, World Horse Welfare, SSPCA and the Scottish Government to bring the conference to Aberdeenshire on 17 May 2019.

The conference stands testament to our commitment to improving the welfare of donkeys and mules through engagement, education and advice.

Roly Owers, chief executive of World Horse Welfare will open the conference, followed by the Member of the Scottish Parliament, Mairi Gougeon, who will welcome everyone to the annual event.

The focus of this year’s event is ‘equine ownership in a changing world’. Expert speakers will cover a range of topics including equine transport in a Brexit World, understanding equine behaviour, equine hoarding and mental health and outcomes from the Strangles Symposium.

The event in May will be held at the World Horse Welfare’s Belwade Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Aboyne. The annual conference provides a platform for experts and owners to come together to share their ideas, experiences, challenges and explore resolutions, and donkey welfare advisers from The Donkey Sanctuary will be on hand to answer any questions.
