Spot the wildlife on The Donkey Sanctuary's Easter Nature Trail in Sidmouth, Devon to win a tasty Easter treat on completion.
Spring has sprung (hurrah!) and the sanctuary’s wildlife is now waking from its slumber, so follow the Easter Nature Trail around the sanctuary to discover what animals (besides donkeys) you could find living in the various habitats located across our land. Along the way, learn how encouraging bio-diversity and maintaining these habitats and natural ecosystems, help’s contribute to the health and wellbeing of our donkeys.
Simply find the habitats located around the sanctuary to reveal which animal lives there and use the stickers provided to match the animal with their habitat listed on the trail sheet. Once you have spotted them all, head to the Gift Shop to claim your prize and certificate.
This entertaining Easter activity combines family fun, exercise and brainpower and is just £3.50 per trail, including the prize and certificate on completion. Choose between palm oil free mini chocolate eggs in a biodegradable and compostable bag or seeds to help you create your own wild flower meadow at home. Good practice, good for the environment, good for you.
Plus with tours and talks, scenic walks, engaging exhibits, award-winning gardens and, of course, hundreds of adorable donkeys to meet, there’s so much to explore with your own herd, whatever the weather. Go on an interactive journey through the global work of The Donkey Sanctuary in our Exhibition Barn, discover all things donkey in the Understanding Donkeys Zone, take a walk in the woods or lose yourself in the maze.
Or make your child’s day at the sanctuary extra special and treat them to some one-to-one hands-on donkey time with our Junior VIP Experience on 31 March or 2 April. We also have a unique opportunity for children interested in a veterinary career, to experience what it is actually like to be ‘a vet for the day’ at our Junior Vet Day on 8 April. Pre-booking for both is essential.
Take sanctuary in our Taste of the West award-winning restaurant, The Kitchen, and enjoy fresh, local, seasonal produce while soaking in the unparalleled coast and country views. Breakfasts, lunches and tempting afternoon treats are dished up daily, with every penny of profit helping donkeys and mules around the world.
Before heading home, browse our Gift Shop at leisure in the knowledge that every purchase goes towards helping donkeys in need. Packed with unique donkey-design items and souvenirs, you will find something for everyone.
Make the day your own, but above all else, fall in love with our herds of donkeys.
