Dawdle for Donkeys

This year’s Dawdle for Donkeys is cancelled. Our efforts are entirely focused on ensuring our resident donkeys receive the highest level of care by our dedicated grooms who continue to work as normal.

The safety of our visitors, staff and donkeys is paramount and is an overriding factor in our decision making. Only when it’s safe to do so, will we welcome visitors back to our sites. We will never be distracted from our core mission of putting donkeys 1st, 2nd and 3rd in everything we do.

We are in the process of contacting everyone who had signed up for this year's event and will be issuing refunds over the coming days.

We look forward to next year, summer 2021, when we fully expect Dawdle for Donkeys to return. Thank you for your understanding.

Transforming lives, one step at a time

Get active for donkeys and enjoy the natural splendour of this amazing corner of Devon by taking on the family-friendly 5k or more adventurous 10k walk with fellow donkey enthusiasts.

Join team Donkey Sanctuary for a family day out, a meet up with friends or simply make new acquaintances as you gently nourish the mind and body with a walk that’s as good for you as it is the four-legged friends you’re helping!

The day kicks off with a (not too strenuous) fun group warm up led by LED Community Leisure, followed by your choice of walk where you’ll take in scenic trails beyond just the Sidmouth sanctuary and meet some of our friendly residents along the way.

Once you have crossed the finish line, we invite you to stay and relax at the sanctuary, relishing in your post-walk glory.

With thanks to LED Community Leisure for supporting the Dawdle for Donkeys this year.
