In its first corporate partnership, The Donkey Sanctuary has teamed up with The Carbon Compost Company to produce Donkey Doo, a soil improver that promises great results for gardeners.
Donkey Doo combines donkey manure with charcoal processed from The Donkey Sanctuary’s willow beds. It is made on site at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth by local business The Carbon Compost Company using production methods which ensure that it is a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional peat based additives.
A percentage of all sales are being donated to help The Donkey Sanctuary’s work with donkey and mules worldwide.
Geoff Self of the Carbon Compost Company says ‘We are proud to be associated with The Donkey Sanctuary and to help them raise funds for their valuable welfare work through Donkey Doo. Not only does Donkey Doo give truly remarkable results for gardens, thanks to our charcoal burning methods, carbon emissions are fixed into the soil making an easy way to offset personal carbon emissions equivalent to a 100 mile car journey per bag.’
