Meet Neddy who lives at Trow Farm. He came into our care in 1988 and is now 32 years old. Unfortunately for Neddy he is almost blind, he wears a pink name collar to signify this to our grooms and visitors.
Neddy can still see shapes and follows his friends around the barn and field to get to where he needs to be. He also seems to have mapped out the barn and can find his way around on his own without a problem.
We have to be careful not to change anything in the barn as Neddy is likely to get confused and stressed. This means we always have to leave the same doors open to and from the barn and make sure that nothing could cause an obstacle for him.
Neddy recognises his grooms' voices and walks towards them when he hears them calling him. He adores having cuddles and will queue up time and time again to be groomed and fussed.
He is such a lovely, trusting donkey who needs that little bit of extra TLC to keep him happy.
