This weekend I’ll be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London in support of The Donkey Sanctuary. We’ve been lucky enough to fill all our places so myself and four of our lovely supporters will be lining up in Hyde Park at 9am on Sunday ready to brave whatever the weather may throw at us (rain probably) as we run 13.2 miles through Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Green Park and St James’s Park.
The route takes us past many famous landmarks including Horse Guards Parade, Big Ben and 10 Downing Street before looping back towards Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace where maybe we’ll get a wave from the Queen!
Now I’m not a natural born runner. I have two left feet, dodgy knees and a hip that I’m sure isn’t far off needing replacing, but I’m proud to put on my Donkey Sanctuary t-shirt and give it a go, and more importantly, try to raise lots of money and awareness for this awesome charity we all work for.
If you would like to support my dodgy knees and help me reach my fundraising target (I’m not far off it now) then please visit my JustGiving fundraising page.
And if you want to join in the fun and follow my progress on the day then you can download the Royal Parks Foundation half marathon app and follow me. My number is 21359.
