Hello, my name is Catherine Pugh, I’m 47 years old and live in Wales. I took up running and joined a local running group a year ago last May to do the Race for Life and haven’t looked back.
My mam passed away 2 years ago and she loved donkeys so I became one of The Donkey Sanctuary’s Woolley donkey knitters. I made quite a few to help raise money for the donkeys but the running soon took over. In March this year, I was fortunate to secure a place in the World Half Marathon Championships in Cardiff as part of a research programme with Cardiff University and raised £275 for The Donkey Sanctuary. I’ve also done 3 other half marathons this year and several other road races but I have never run a marathon before, so this challenge is both scary and exciting.
I am delighted to have been offered one of The Donkey Sanctuary’s Virgin London Marathon charity places and am so looking forward to my journey of raising funds for the Sanctuary whilst at the same time running in one of the world’s most famous marathons. If you would like to support me in this epic challenge you can do so here via the link below, Thank you!
