On Sunday 14th September, I attended a church service in Walcott, Lincolnshire for all animals with the proceeds going to The Donkey Sanctuary.
It was a beautiful day so the service was held in a field next to the church and about 25 people attended along with lots of dogs (including my dog, Barney), a tortoise and Jack, one of our foster donkeys belonging to Gill Reynolds.
We sang hymns including "All Things Bright and Beautiful" and were joined in song by one of the dogs who enthusiastically howled along with us!
I gave a short talk about the work of the Sanctuary and our foster scheme.
We said our prayers and the Reverend Beth blessed each of the animals.
It was a lovely service and all of the animals behaved impeccably. Refreshments were served afterwards and several people were keen to learn more about the work of The Donkey Sanctuary and meet Jack.
I would like to say a big thank you to the congregation for raising £120 for The Donkey Sanctuary.
