Well, remember the story of The Yorkshire Puddings - four donkeys called Rhubarb, Custard, Apple and Pie? A year ago our welfare team found these donkeys living in an unsuitable environment and in desperate need of farriery care. By working with the RSPCA, Minster Equine Vets and Humberside Police, we were able to rescue them and welcome them to the care of The Donkey Sanctuary.
Since then there has been lots of fun, frolics and plenty to celebrate as our fab four became the fantastic five with the arrival of baby Beattie! It hasn't all been plain sailing though and during the last 12 months these donkeys have had to overcome their fair share of challenges, including a nerve wracking hospital stay as Beattie battled with illness.
Thanks to the hard work of everyone involved in their care, we have enjoyed watching as these donkeys flourished into some of the friendliest four-legged donkeys you will ever have the pleasure to meet.
Please join us in celebrating The Yorkshire Puddings first Sanctuary anniversary by looking back over their most memorable moments from the last year and reading updates on how they are settling into Sanctuary life in the blogs to follow.
The Donkey Sanctuary is only able to carry out its work thanks to the continued generosity of our wonderful supporters so, on behalf of Rhubarb, Beattie, Apple, Custard and Pie we would like to say a huge thank you for all your support.
