This morning while I was quietly getting on with answering emails, there was a commotion behind me and I swivelled my chair around to see two long ears in the doorway!
What on earth was going on I wondered? Sue and Jenna from our Education and Activities team explained that donkey training was in progress. Some of our donkeys visit care homes for the elderly to interact with the residents, who love to meet the donkeys and spend time giving them a fuss and having a chat with the staff. Sometimes donkeys are required to go inside the building, for example if a resident is not feeling well enough to come outside. On one occasion some time ago, I do recall a donkey having to climb up the fire escape staircase as he was not keen to go in the lift!
Trix was having a little session of trying new venues to see if he was willing to come inside the Farms Administration office. This morning was the first attempt and he made it across the threshold which was extremely brave of him.
I never know quite who my next visitor is going to be!
