My name's Dawn Vincent and I run the Sanctuary's Press Office with my esteemed colleague Amanda Gordon, and together, we are able to tell the world how our charity is helping donkeys by sending out regular press releases and dealing with various press and media visits.
I have been working at The Donkey Sanctuary since I was 17 but have been associated with it a great deal longer! It's a family thing for me you see. My granny, Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, founded the charity almost 40 years ago and so it was a natural step for me to be involved with donkeys. I share the same passion for these humble creatures as my granny and that of my dad, Paul Svendsen who is now taking the charity forward in Europe where thousands more donkeys need our help.
During my time at the Sanctuary, I have seen and done many things, so know quite a bit about most areas of our work - a couple of weeks ago, I was taking photographs of a donkey having surgery in our veterinary clinic operating theatre; this week I am working on the new promotional DVD for the Sanctuary which has to be ready for next year. Everyday is different, and every day I work is for the good of donkeys worldwide.
