There is a feeling of spring in the air in the events team last week. We have an action packed programme of events for the year ahead and we are really excited about it! We had our first experience day of the year and it was a glorious day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and the donkeys' visitors and staff were all happy. We were able to provide the attendees with an unforgettable and thoroughly enjoyable day!
They had a fabulous time cuddling, grooming and walking the donkeys, and meeting Millie the mule who does tricks and our giant Poitou donkeys. They had an action packed day and they were fuelled by scrumptious refreshments provided by the Hayloft Restaurant.
Our experience days are an excellent way to raise much needed funds for the donkeys, while providing supporters with a valuable insight into donkey care and the inner workings of the Sanctuary.
We also hold an experience day at our Derbyshire Centre too (situated near Buxton) which offers an exclusive chance to see behind the scenes of the farm which isn't normally open to the public.
One of our other events that we are very excited about is our bray and stay camping experience. The first one of the year will be held on Friday 17th May 2013. This really is an event like no other, if you love donkeys and you love camping we can guarantee you will love bray and stay!
A hearty dinner, a full English breakfast and refreshments are included in your stay, typical activities are quality donkey time which includes cuddling, grooming and walking, guided tour and nature walk, a donkey quiz, mucking out and feeding and time spent with our knowledgeable staff who are happy to answer any questions you may have about our work and have lots of donkey stories to tell.
We also hold bray and stay events at our Donkey Assisted Therapy Centres in Ivybridge and Leeds too which provide a fantastic opportunity to see behind the scenes and meet the donkeys at our other centres.
