In 2004 as the centre opened to the children of Greater Manchester we met Eleanor. She was 7 years old then and came along to have riding therapy with her school ‘Hawthorns’ and also attended Saturday Clubs and twilight sessions when she rode alongside her siblings Jon and Hannah.
Eleanor suffers from cerebral palsy and special education needs. Since 2004 we have seen Hannah blossom into a wonderful young lady who is still attending the centre today. She has become part of the Donkey Sanctuary Manchester family. The improvements in speech, confidence, posture and body strength are remarkable and no doubt due in part to the many, many donkey therapy sessions.
