Well I have been the Sanctuary’s new PR assistant for nearly seven weeks now and I am really enjoying the new role!
I have been very busy for the last two weeks completing my induction and I have to say I have learnt a lot about all the different departments and job roles within the Sanctuary!
One of the many places I visited was our sister charity’s, Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys, centre at Ivybridge. It is one of five donkey-riding centres for children with additional needs. While there I was reunited with my old friend Garth, the donkey! I used to look after Garth and his friend Wayne (who is one of the EST adoption donkeys) when I worked at Brookfield Farm< as a groom.
Garth and Wayne were such nice natured donkeys that we decided they would be ideal to work as riding donkeys in one of the EST Centres. So they left Brookfield and went to EST Sidmouth in June 2005 and then they moved to EST Ivybridge in March ready for the official opening at the end of June 2007.
