There's a crispness in the air as I walk towards the Main Barn to say goodnight to the donkeys. Most of them are lined up each side of the feeder helping themselves to mouthfuls of barley straw.
On the far side, two donkeys stand and groom each other while a chocolate brown donkey close to me paws the ground before she makes herself comfortable in the deep straw. Underneath a heat lamp to my left a donkey watches me ... motionless except for a small twitch of the ears.
As I am taking photos, a warm nose gently touches my face - it's Jubilee. His warm breath steams up my camera lens!
One thing I have to say about Jubilee is that he's beautiful with a long fringe that slightly covers his eyes. He's a very sociable donkey and loves meeting people on the Main Yard.
Jubilee was born in 1976 and came to live at the Sanctuary in 2007 after living in the same home for 30 years! He is a very social donkey and has made new friendships - both donkey and human. Just like Pat and Sylvia Carroll when they made a visit to the Sanctuary earlier this year.
And no guessing which donkey got his picture taken on Dare to wear it pink day!
If you've visited the Sanctuary, post a comment below if you spotted Jubilee on the Main Yard.
